The San Francisco Giants released their 25-man roster today for the National League Championship Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Game 1 for this series starts today at 4:30 PST on FOX.
The roster is the same as the roster that manager Bruce Bochy had for the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves. That means that outfielder and former Phillie, Aaron Rowand, is still on the roster and starting pitcher Barry Zito is not.
Just like in the NLDS the Giants are carrying 11 pitchers and 14 position players, which is broke down to two catchers, seven infielders, and five outfielders.
Pitchers: Jeremy Affeldt, Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain, Santiago Casilla, Tim Lincecum, Javier Lopez, Guillermo Mota, Ramon Ramirez, Sergio Romo, Jonathan Sanchez, Brian Wilson
Catchers: Buster Posey, Eli Whiteside
Infielders: Mike Fontenot, Aubrey Huff, Travis Ishikawa, Edgar Renteria, Freddy Sanchez, Pablo Sandoval, Juan Uribe
Outfielders: Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, Aaron Rowand, Nate Schierholtz, Andres Torres
