NFL Injury Report: 49ers-Panthers (Wednesday)

San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Eric Heitmann just can't seem to get healthy.  After finally getting healthy and suiting up for the first time since he broke his left fibula in training camp he is now out another four weeks at least with a neck injury.  According to Matt Maiocco, it is an injury that dates back to the 49ers training camp.  49ers Pro Bowl TE Vernon Davis was limited in practice today and is listed as day-to-day.  Other than those two players there does not appear to be any serious injuries and most the players that did not practice are likely getting a veteran courtesy.

For the Panthers, it is interesting to see that WR Steve Smith practiced fully today.  It was suspected that he wouldn't play at all this weekend and this will be interesting to follow through out the week to see if he continues to practice.  With a fully healed Steve Smith, he could present some challenges for the questionable 49ers pass defense.
