NFL Injury Report: Broncos-49ers (Wednesday)

For the first time in his San Francisco 49ers career, Troy Smith got the first team reps at quarterback.  He is set to start on Sunday against the Denver Broncos for the third time in his career.  His two previous starts were when he was with the Baltimore Ravens and he won one and lost one.

Other than Alex Smith and Eric Heitmann being out, I would expect everyone else to play.  It will be more telling based on tomorrow's practice how serious some of the other injuries are.  The only one that I am really concerned about is the Anthony Dixon injury but it may be a good thing--we may get to see more Brian Westbrook.

San Francisco

Out: QB Alex Smith (shoulder), C Eric Heitmann (neck)
Did Not Participate: LB Ahmad Brooks (knee), CB Tarell Brown (back), TE Vernon Davis (ankle)
