49ers-Panthers: Matt Moore Named Starting Quarterback

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Carolina Panthers have made another switch at quarterback.  The Panthers are going to bench rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen and start Matt Moore in hopes of regaining the success he had at the end of last year.

Clausen was replaced in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s game with Moore after having three fumbles and throwing an interception.

Jimmy Clausen, the rookie quarterback drafted out of Notre Dame, has eight turnovers and a 33.3 passer rating in five games this year.  Most draft “experts” thought that Jimmy Clausen would not be ready to start out of college right away and it would be good for him to sit awhile.  Hopefully, for his development, he will be able to sit and learn more before being thrown into the fire a la Alex Smith.
