On Friday, Jim Harbaugh announced his new coaching staff and Mike Johnson was not part of that staff. But that’s okay because there was already speculation that he was going to be the offensive coordinator at UCLA, even though he was offered a job on Harbaugh’s staff.
Now, two weeks later, UCLA has announced the hiring of Mike Johnson and the firing of current offensive coordinator Norm Chow. Chow is expected to take the Utah offensive coordinator job which should be interesting since Utah will be part of the Pac-12 this year.
As well as the coordinator duties, Johnson will also be coaching the wide receivers while head coach Rick Neuheisel will take over coaching quarterbacks.
