Bryant Young Hired as Florida Gators' Defensive Line Coach

Former San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Bryant Young has been added to the coaching staff of the Florida Gators. Young will serve as the defensive line coach on new Florida Gators coach Will Muschamp’s staff. Young will be working with defensive coordinator Dan Quinn on the Gators staff, who coached Bryant Young from 2001-2004 in San Francisco.

Bryant Young retired as a 49er in 2007 after 14 years in the NFL. The four-time Pro Bowler got his coaching career started after he worked for Notre Dame, his alma mater, in 2009 as a graduate assistant. Then, last year they worked for San Jose State as their defensive line coach.

Bryant Young was a fan favorite because he played for the 49ers of all of his 14 years in the league and never really asked to be traded or complained about some of the teams that he was on. He was the last player of the 1994 Super Bowl Champion team to leave the 49ers.
