Shane Vereen entering NFL draft

Jeff Tedford is sending another running back to the NFL to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors. Cal running back Shane Vereen has announced that will enter into the 2011 NFL draft.

Vereen is coming off a season where he rushed for 1,167 yards with 13 touchdowns.

Jeff Tedford is known by most as a quarterback guru after developing NFL quarterbacks Trent Dilfer, Joey Harrington, David Carr, Kyle Boller, and Aaron Rodgers but he hasn’t produced a decent college quarterback since Rodgers left in 2005. More recently Tedford has been producing running backs like J.J. Arrington, Marshawn Lynch, Jahvid Best, Justin Forsett, and now potentially Shane Vereen.
