Congratulations Auburn Tigers; NFL Teams Should Say No Thanks To Cam Newton

Congratulations to the Auburn Tigers who just beat the Oregon Ducks in the BCS National Championship Game. It was quite a game and was very exciting to the last few seconds.

I would expect Cam Newton to come out with his announcement in the next few days that he will be entering the 2011 NFL draft. I say, no rush Cam.

It is clear to me that Newton is not much different than Tim Tebow. The offense that they run at Auburn is strictly out of the spread and Newton’s success as a quarterback this year was largely based on his ability to run. Auburn has very few weapons on offense and had to rely strictly on Cam Newton. Newton is terribly inaccurate and is not much of a drop back quarterback. Whichever team ends up drafting him will be very sorry as he reminds me of a former SEC quarterback who had one successful year, like Newton, but played at LSU.

That’s right, Jamarcus Russell.

NFL teams, I would run and hide from Cam Newton….

With that said, here is the NFL draft order put together by Mac’s Football Blog.
