49ers News and Notes - September 22, 2010

Rookie linebacker NaVorro Bowman will make his first NFL start in place of Takeo Spikes who will be out with an injured knee.

What would the week be without a guarantee from someone on the 49ers.  This week, Vernon Davis has guaranteed victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

After losing outside linebacker Diryal Briggs to the Denver Broncos practice squad the 49ers signed another outside linebacker, former UCLA Bruin Bruce Davis, who was on the 49ers roster in preseason and who impressed coach Mike Singletary.

In Monday's press conference, Mike Singeltary said that guard Chilo Rachal would get his job back when he returns from his injury but did not guarantee center Eric Heitmann's job.

Former 49er Ronnie Lott explained his conversation with the New Orleans Saints prior to Monday night's game against the 49ers on KNBR.

After creating an interview that has caused quite the national stir, both the 49ers and KPIX have agreed to change the host of the interview.  The segment will still be done with coach Singletary but will now be done with Kim Koyle instead of Dennis O'Donnell.
