The best defensive back in the league, Nnamdi Asomugha, is now a free agent due to the fact that he did not meet some incentives in his contract that he should have hit if he was not injured this season. Smart people in football are expecting him not be back with the Oakland Raiders if for no other reason than it’s the Raiders.
But Asomugha does not seem mind and would be willing to come back and play for the Raiders.
“There’s a chance, there’s a good chance,” Asomugha said in an interview on ESPN’s Sportscenter.
Asomugha will pretty much have a choice of any team he wants to play with. I can’t think of one team that would not want to have him and given the choices that he will have it is hard to believe that he will be back with the Raiders.

NFL Injury Report: Raiders-Steelers (Thursday)
The Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers released their practice participation report. Chaz Schilens will likely be out again this week against the Steelers as he still is not practicing. The biggest possible loss for the Raiders is the likelihood that Nnamdi Asomugha may not play against the Steelers. The Raiders are meeting the Steelers at an opportune time to get a win but without Asomugha that chance could be closing.
The transcript for Tom Cable's media session is after the jump.

NFL Injury Report: Chiefs-Raiders (Thursday)
Jason Campbell will again be the starting quarterback for the Raiders this week. Tom Cable made an official announcement that Campbell will be the guy.
Two of the Raiders key players, Nnamdi Asomugha and Zach Miller, both did not practice again and they remain in doubt as to whether they will play. As always, Thursday's practice report is a good indication of whether players will suit up. I would venture to guess that both players will be considered questionable tomorrow with an unlikely chance that they play on Sunday. This would give both players two weeks to get healthy as the Raiders have a bye the following week.
Kansas City
Limited Participation: WR Dexter McCluster (ankle), S Kendrick Lewis (hamstring)
Full Participation: G Ryan Lilja (hand)
Oakland
Did Not Participate: CB Nnamdi Asomugha (ankle), DT John Henderson (foot), TE Zach Miller (foot), WR Chaz Schilens (knee), WR Louis Murphy (chest),
Limited Participation: S Hiram Eugene (pectoral), WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (shoulder), C Samson Satele (knee), QB Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder)

Raiders cut Yamon Figurs, home opener to be blacked out
Who would have thought that the Oakland Raiders would have less drama than the San Francisco 49ers. The only news coming out of Oakland is a few roster moves and injuries. So here's the most interesting things going on in Raider land.
- The Raiders have cut kickoff/punt returner Yamon Figurs after he looked pretty bad in those duties against the Tennessee Titans. Head coach Tom Cable said that both Johnnie Lee Higgins and Jacoby Ford would take over those duties.
- Offensive linemen Robert Gallery and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha sat out today's practice with injuries but it looks like both will play in Sunday's game along with running back Michael Bush who was back participating in practice.
- It's official, the Raiders first home game will be blacked out in the local markets. It's the first home opener to be blacked out since the 2004 season.
