Every year there are good stories in the NFL about how a player beats the odds to make it to the NFL. Sometimes those players are drafted in the sixth or seventh round and sometimes those players are undrafted.
The 49ers have one of those this year, CB Tramaine Brock.

- Hard Knocks should be interesting this week. Darrelle Revis finally has been signed by the Jets in which he agreed to a four-year, $46 million contract with the Jets.
- Baltimore Ravens have signed recently cut wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. T.J. will join former NFC West wideout Anquan Boldin.
- Houston Texans have signed quarterback Matt Leinart to be Matt Schaub's backup.
- Aubrey Huff is know sporting a rally thong which has seemed to work. The Giants are sporting a 4-1 record with it.
- Jonathan Sanchez looked very good in his shutout against the Dodgers but wouldn't guarantee a victory in his next start, against the Padres.
- Giants are expected to make some call ups to the big leagues including Emmanuel Burriss, Eugenio Velez, and Ryan Rohlinger later this week but there will be no Brandon Belt sighting.
- Richmond Flying Squirrel outfielder Thomas Neal was name Most Valuable Player by the Squirrels. Neal hit .291, 12 HRs, and 69 RBI this year at Double-A.
- Brandon Crawford is back from his injury and is now playing for the San Jose Giants. The single-A team is in the midst of a playoff run.
